Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These terms apply to your use of hannahroseshaw.com and hannahroseshaw.co.uk (the “Website”). The Website is owned and operated by Hannah Rose Shaw, a sole trader based in England (“I”, “me” or “my”).
By using the Website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the Website.
1. About the Website
The Website presents my practice, writing, projects and services. These may include brand strategy and identity, website design and development, creative direction, research, curation, interpretation, digital exhibitions and related consultancy.
Information on the Website is provided as a general introduction to my work. It does not form a binding offer or guarantee that a particular service, outcome, price or timescale will be available.
2. Project enquiries and agreements
Submitting an enquiry does not create a client relationship or require either of us to proceed with a project.
Commissioned work will be governed by a separate proposal, statement of work, contract or other written agreement. That project agreement will set out the scope, fees, payment schedule, timescale, responsibilities, revisions, cancellation terms and intellectual property arrangements that apply to the commission.
If there is any conflict between these Website Terms and a signed project agreement, the project agreement will take priority in relation to that project.
3. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the Website and its contents are owned by me or used with permission. This includes text, research, concepts, designs, visual material, graphics, code, photographs, film, audio, exhibition material and the selection and arrangement of content.
You may view the Website and share links to its public pages. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, adapt, sell, license, scrape or commercially use its contents without my prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Copyright and usage rights in commissioned work are governed by the relevant project agreement. Displaying work on this Website does not grant any licence to use it.
4. Third-party and contributed material
Some projects, exhibitions or editorial features may include material owned or supplied by clients, artists, writers, institutions, archives, photographers or other contributors. Ownership of that material remains with the relevant rights holder unless stated otherwise.
Where material is submitted or supplied for publication, the person providing it is responsible for confirming that they have the rights and permissions needed for the agreed use. Any licence, crediting requirements, publication period or removal arrangements will be agreed separately where appropriate.
5. Accuracy and availability
I take reasonable care to keep the Website accurate and available, but I do not guarantee that every page will always be complete, current, uninterrupted or free from errors.
I may update, suspend or remove Website content, projects or services without notice. References to past projects or results are illustrative and do not guarantee the same outcome for future work.
6. External websites and services
The Website may link to third-party websites, platforms, archives, collections or services. These links are provided for context or convenience. I do not control third-party websites and am not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or terms.
Any third-party software, hosting, integrations or platforms used in commissioned work remain subject to the provider’s own terms and availability.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use the Website in a way that is unlawful, fraudulent or harmful, or attempt to interfere with its operation or security. You must not introduce malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use automated methods to extract substantial parts of the Website.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for loss arising from reliance on general information published on the Website, the temporary unavailability of the Website, or the content or operation of third-party websites and services.
The Website is intended primarily to present my professional practice. I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or data arising from business use of the Website.
Any liability connected with commissioned services will be governed by the relevant project agreement.
9. Privacy and cookies
My collection and use of personal information is explained in the Privacy Policy. Information about cookies and similar technologies is set out in the Cookies Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
I may revise these terms when the Website, my services or relevant legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date. Changes will apply from the date they are published and will not retrospectively alter a signed project agreement.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms, subject to any rights you may have under mandatory consumer law.
